It's been awhile

Wow it has been awhile since I posted! AP testing and finals have been killer! But alas, here is a new post! Exciting news to all those who know my working situation/ adventure, I QUIT! The prospect of having to work around scheduling all summer through the many events taking place that involved me as a necessary planner and participant just didn't look like the summer anyone would like to have. So I nicely went down there and let my boss know that the situation wasn't going to work out and he suggested I quit to allow him to find someone he could rely on. I was fine with this. It is amazing the feeling you get when you are released from something you have hated doing and allow time for things you want to do such as work as a volunteer at the animal clinic on Shepard Lane. I am so excited to have a summer free of forced labor and instead doing work disguised as fun. Watching the Allen children every Thursday should be a whole new adventure but I am willing to take on the challenge. Mary has declared that since we have Cherry Hill passes, the two of us and maybe a few others will be going swimming everyday! Yeah for siblings! It is strange to think that another year has passed so quickly and my senior year is just getting closer. I am so excited for summer and the fun that comes along with sitting in the sun and not having to worry about AP homework or Honors English reading projects(Fingers crossed for an easy summer reading assignment). My junior year is looking like it will be a fun year filled with AP classes and lots of fun opportunities. I can't wait to see what the coming months will bring!

Lacrosse is a killer sport!

Lacrosse conditioning was killer today! Usually we start with a "leisurely" 4 laps around the DHS indoor track and then go into the hallway to do exercises such as crunches, lunges, squats, wall sits, planks and many more highly enjoyable tasks! When these exercises are completed, each for 1 minute, we sprint the hallways of Davis and try not to die in the process. Sounds wonderful right? Times that by 2 and add in ladder sprints for 10 minutes and you end up with what conditioning was like today. Why am I doing this again?
On the topic of lacrosse, I ordered some pretty cool DHS sweats and a long sleeve warm up shirt. I was so excited to wear them and proudly show off my love for lacrosse. Then i looked at the ship date and saw that they are set to ship on the 25th of February! This was bad enough, but then at conditioning today, our coach announced that since a month was not long enough for the team to all order what they wanted, she extended the date the online store closed until Thursday night. Now my gear isn't coming until like mid March! By then I won't need to wear sweats and a long sleeve shirt! Sheesh!
Besides the joys of lacrosse, my week has been pretty good! I rocked my Algebra 2 quiz with a score of 33/36! For a person that is "math dyslectic" :) that score is pretty good! My excitement grew as everyone around me looked at their scores and mine was the highest! Boo yeah! I am a winner today!
As a happy side note to my day, I saw my trek ma today! I haven't seen her since our reunion in September! On trek she told us that she would not be able to walk the whole way for health reasons. We were all fine with this and worked extra hard to pull without the extra person. This made my trek experience that much more amazing! My family was great and I loved trek. When I saw her today, she told me the reason she was unable to pull and walk the whole way was due to her being pregnant with TWINS! She said she is thinking of ancestor and pioneer names since they are her trek babies!
That is my week so far! I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!

And so I begin

It's surprising where you can get inspiration on a daily basis. While sitting in class today I overheard a girl saying how much she loved this blog about sports. This got me thinking about starting my own blog and here we are. I don't really know much about blogging but hey, I'm up for new experiences. I may not be an English major, but I am a girl with a story to tell.
To start, I am an average American teen with likes and dislikes, interests and hobbies. I love animals and helping them. I have dreamed of becoming a veterinarian since a young age and that dream has stuck with me. I basically plan my life around becoming a vet. I also love my family and their support for me despite our differences. Like any other person, I also hate somethings, okay hates a strong word but I really do hate fish. Despite my mom's determined efforts, I am still a devote hater of fish and other seafood. There a few other things that I don't like but most of the time I just go with the flow and hope for the best.
My interests include Psych, one of the best shows on television. I love watching Psych with my neighbor Bentley while eating popcorn and laughing together. Another one of my interests is dogs. When I was little, I dreamed of having a dog, but my dad being allergic really kept my dreams of having a fluffy friend from coming true. This all changed with the discovery of allergy shots. I really appreciate the person who thought of such a wonderful thing. Now I have a beautiful black German Shepard named Portia that fulfills all of my dog dreams. Portia is bigger than my 5 year old self envisioned would fill the spot of a furry friend in my life. Her size, however, only adds to the fun I have with her. She is a running partner like no one else could be. Her need for speed turns into me being dragged if I try to walk or slow down. Portia also enjoys swimming in our neighbors huge pond with her friends Stormy, a labor-doodle and Colby, an Australian Shepard.
The sport of lacrosse has become a fun hobby and sport in my life. I started playing last year with my sister Ashley and loved it. I am back for another season starting in February.
It may seem long, but that is just the start of what there is to know about me.
